Category 3 PPE: fatal risks.
This protection protects against liquid chemicals with Type 6 clothing: full body protection (coverall or one-piece suit (jacket with trousers)) or PB6: partial body protection (smock).
For protection limited to small splashes in the form of mist and spray.
Provide additional compatible accessories for head, hand and foot protection.
Type 6 and PB [6] protective clothing provides the lowest level of chemical protection and is intended to offer protection against probable exposure to small quantities of spray or limited accidental splashes of chemicals.
Any direct contamination by pressure or jet is beyond the scope of protection of a Type 6 or PB6 garment.
Certain design requirements must be respect for this PPE: the jacket must overlap the trousers by at least 20 cm, all openings must be closed with a flap, no lapels are allowed, etc.
Tests are carried out on the fabric as well as on the accessories and seams.
The purpose of PPE is to provide a first line of defence against danger, and the wearer must be able to move away from danger and, if necessary, remove the garment quickly.
This protection is achieved through a water-repellent treatment applied to the fabric. This treatment is maintained with each wash by re-impregnation carried out during the final rinse cycle of the PPE by a professional.
